Hello AB_Guy "Go To Location" isreally all I need to "follow" a tag through an S7 program, but the Cross Reference can just as well be used for this. Having said that, once in a blue moon I too think that it would be nice to be able todo a global pure text based search throughout the whole program (usually when I want to find out if a particular instruction is used in the program or if I am looking for overall Address Register related usage and stuff like that). While this is not possible from your "normal" Step 7 Editor (not yet anyhow) it is possible to do so from a source file. And here's what you got to do to create one: 1. In the program editor, select the menu command File > Generate Source File. 2. In the dialog box, select the source file folder in which you want to create the new source file. 3. Enter a name for the source file in the text box. 4. In the "Select STEP 7 Blocks" dialog box, select the block(s) which you want to generate as the given source file. The selected blocks are displayed in the right list box. 5. Confirm with "OK."
