Hi samkcr, The question is very generic. There is lot of information on time synchronization available on this site. To help you on this the following information will be helpful
Have a look at this manual for PCS7 ontime synchronization. Even though you are using PLC-WinCC, the fundamentals remain same and you can use this to "plan" and get started. Hope it helps.

Hi that FAQ is not a syncronisation, it is a time set.The times in PC and S7 can have differnces up to 500ms. The two linked FAQsare real time syncronisations. regards cumulus |

I will suggest that you keep your OS server as Time master. It is standard recommendation as well. I believe there is at least one confusing blunder in the above mentioned manual which complicates things
Certain alarm messages may not be available in your case as you are doing a wincc-step 7 configuration and not PCS7. Point to remember:
