How FB110 works

Hi all,

Someone can explain me how FB110 works? Or some manual that explain it. My CPU is 928B

If you mean FB 110 "MSGOUT", look at section 10.9.2 of the following mnual:

FB 110: Transferring a data block

Task The data area to be transferred is stipulated by the input parameter FIRB (= number of the first data field to be transferred) and NUMB (= number of data fields to be transferred). A data field normally consists of 32 data words. Depending on the data block length, the last data field may be less than 32 data words.

The transfer is triggered by a positive-going edge at the start input STAR. If the output parameter REST is zero after the transfer, this means that the function block TRANDAT was able to send all the data fields (according to the NUMB parameter)...

Hello Gustavo;

It seems that the FB110 you are facing is not one of the standard blocks of the S5-135U, It would have been generted by the programmer on your project.

You should look at the declaration of FB110 in your program to understand what it does wit the parameters shown in your screenshot.

One possible hint is the name of the function: GRENZSIG could be a shortened version of Grenze signal, or Grenzsignal, which would mean "limit signal" in English.

No, it's not the same.

The user Gustavo Dias refers to a selfmade function block from  the programmer of an S5 project, which the user wants to translate to S7.

Well, it can be coincidence that the FB name and the names of the parameters are the same.

My best guess is that it is the same FB , given another FB number. maybe even the Siemens S5 protection is removed by the programmer.
