How is migrate from s7 300 to s7 1500?

E.g. there is no mutch to do: 1 - Build the S7-1500 hardware configuration 2 - Drag and drop the tags definitions and the program blocks. Once the S7-300 and S7-1500 has differents hardwares (CP, FM, for example), it is natural that these parts should be manually adapted, according with the desired functionality.

ASTECH Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	Hallo Pegaia (and the other "project migrators" ) I have the similar problem, I have the existing project: - PLC software written in STEP7 V5.5 SP2 for CPU313C in FBD and STL (only blocks, no sources) - hardware is CPU313C plus one extra digital module - and also the WinCC Flexible visualisation created in WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 for KTP1000Basic DP screen. I would like to migrate all into the TIA Portal V12 SP1, CPU is S7-1500 and the new screen is the Comfort Panel 1200. I am searching for the user-friendly manual or description how to do it step by step, it seems to be quite complex task containing actually four different stages: - migration from STEP V5.5 into the TIA Portal V12 SP1 - migration of the PLC program blocksfrom CPU313C into the CPU-1500 - migration from WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 into the WinCC Professional V12 SP1 - migration from KTP1000 Basic DP into the Comfort Panel 1200. It all causes that I already havea headache, it seems that the programming everything all over again will be shorter and will save a lot of nerves. I searched Siemens FAQ, downloaded thewebinar and searched the forum, the only whatI find are some general clues which block is non-migratable, some tricks to migrate the libraries or know-how-protected blocks, but how to start this on? What is the first step? Do I have to create the S7300 project first in TIA Portal and also S7-1500 project (by adding device) and first migrate from CPU313C/STEP7 V5.5into theCPU313C/TIA Portal V12and then into CPU-1500/TIA Portal V12? When I use Migrate project option from menu in TIA Portal I always get the notification: "Error during migration:The project does not include any data."What data are we talking about? I would appreciate if I could obtain more step-by-step description, do you (or anyone) know if something like this exists?

Strange is that I cannot find any clear instruction how to use properly the function : File -->Migrate project... in TIA Portal V12. What doyou migrate to what then? Ihave to point on the source project and destination project, but I don'tthinkI do it good... Or my project is not OK, maybe I miss some setting or HW Config is not ok. I will try again,perhaps I willdiscover something, then I will post it here.

I have decided to program all over again from scratch and search for the migration possibilities later. I could not find any simple and understandable guide that could give me the feeling that I will not lose a week to solve the annoying problems, if I can actuallyprogram everything all over again within a week. But today I got notified by Siemens with this material: "Migration Guide; helps you to migrate from WinCC flexible to WinCC (TIA Portal)" https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=77430539&caller=nl In the meantime my project is almost running, the graphics on the Comfort screen looks delicious and the PLC programis almost ready.
