you can use the CTI 2500-RBC Profibus DP remote base controller. http://www.controltechnology.com/products/2500-rbc/ it allows you to connect TI545 bases to an S7 CPU and configure them as Profibus I/O on the S7 CPU.The CTI 2500-RBC is fully compatible with the TI545 I/O and bases. Colbain, Yes you can use the 505 Profibus RBC and SIMATIC TI I/O modules. In the hardware catalog, under Compatible Profibus DP slave in the folder SIMATIC, you will find the 505-6870 DP RBC with the I/O. If you have I/O in the CPU rack, you can remove the 545 CPU and replace it with the 505-6870 to use the I/O. As for the 505-6851, theywill also have to be replaced with the 6870. Last I checked, Siemens still has these in stock.If Siemens does not have them currently, you can try Control Technology Inc, in Knoxville, TN.
