How to access the IOT2050 under 4G Net

Hello,

I have connected the Internet with a 4G SIM card on my IOT2050, following this, and successfully ping "www.google.com".  And with the command "ip a" I have checked the IP address in the ppp item. Then I tried to access the IOT2050 from my PC with this IP address, but it failed. Should I modify some port settings? How can I access the IOT through the 4G net? (like that I used to access it with"192.168.200.1")

thanks for your explanation. Now in this situation, could you please give me some advice to access the IOT2050 in a feasible way? Because I would like to deploy the 2050 in an out-of-town factory and remotely control it. Do you have some other ideas?

Some operators are able to provide public IP addresses, so you should check whether your provider does that. In addition you need to make sure that the incoming connection is not prevented by firewalls etc.

 I am not Fe_lipe, but I will give my advice :)

One way would be to use some relay service, where the IoT2050 will establish a connection with a relay server in a public network. Traffic to the IoT2050 will then be sent via that relay server to the IoT2050, using the previously established connection.

Another option is to e.g., use MQTT. It is also a relay service, and you send your data, commands etc using MQTT, via an MQTT broker (relay) in a public network.

There may be other, more fancy, ways of doing it too, without having to use relays, but that would require more engineering. MQTT "just works" :)

And, as mentioned earlier, if you can get an IP address from your operator that is not behind a NAT/firewall that is the most straight forward option.
