so i have tag in HMI tag list that is list of 10 elements and each of this elements can have 15 elements so my question is how do you call that kind of tags in VB scripts???

example that i tryed:

Dim test

test = HMIRuntime.SmartTags("Elements"."Element_1")

test = HMIRuntime.SmartTags("Elements".(0))

Cant find anywhere how to do it. If anyone have idea how to do it please share.

 Hi mskrpan1,

Open you Tag list and VB script in split screen and the just do 'drag & drop'. Tia will do the rest for you.

It will have the following format:  SmartTags("Elements.Element1.")

thanks for answer but i found that help that you linked me and also i tryed like they suggest there but like i say it is not working.

I made in HMI tag 20 tags and each of that tag have 10 elements inside and when i try to call one of this elements it underline my code and say that tag is not array.

Example:

var = HMIRuntime.SmartTags("tag")(0)

i made FB_Alarms that have DB that is connected with UDT that have array of 0...20 bits, then i made HMI alarm tags 20 of them and in FB_Alarms i asigned each pointer alarm tag to each bits.

Like this:

A     "SCADA_DB".MD_SYS_PLC.Err_OB80
=     "DB_HMI_ALM".ALM_POINTER[0].BIT[0]

then i made in alarm group in HMI where i connect everything in one. I give name for alarm and then assign pointer from HMI to trigger in this case from example from above it is:

HMI_ALM_DB    with pointer ALM_POINTER[0] and i give him trigger 8 because of memory bits are reverse if you know what i mean.

Everything is fine alarms are working good and i can call with smarttags direct from hmi tag or plc tag but i cant call from pointer tag made in HMI.

I am using Tia Portal v14 SP1, WinCC Advanced

But thanks for answer anywhey i can do script without that just direct connect to the tag it also works. This was only me wanted to know more if there is any trick to make it work.
