How to assure that modifiable parameters are recorded permanently

ruca Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Dear sirs, We areprogramming astandardSupervision System based in WinCC anda CPU S300 315-2DP. The Alarms are triggered in the CPU 312-2DP where theAnalog Inputs signals are compared withthe respective modifiableSet Points,writeen in a DB from the WinCC HMI. The Operator will adjust these limits time to time. We have to be sure that the last Set Points writeen by the Operator will remained after very long periods of shutdown ( months of black-out ). I know that in S200 I have to explicitly declare that certain information must be writeen in the EEPROM for being permanent. I have to do the same respect a S300 DB block? Thanks a LOT !

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	S7-300 (produced after 2002) have MMC, so data in DBs is retentitive, i.e. it would be restored in case of power fault. You don't need anything.

In case you have to change the offline DB later on, save the parameters from online code and change the DB after that not to lose any parameter which is saved in the DB.
