How to block a unused channel of AI module?

Rosegarden Posts: 63 Rating: (0)	Hello people, in our SPPA system we have several analog input modules where no device is connected. The channels are spare. But in the DCS system the channel are in fault (BAD signal), because of the lack of a live zero (<4mA). When I place a resistance of 2K2 ohm over the channel to simulate a live zero of about15mA butthe fault is still in the channel saying no live zero. The measuring type of the channels are defined as 4DMU(4-20mA), the diagnostic interrupt is selected in the hardware config. Althought the channel is operating as a current input I do not measure any voltage. The module is a active module so it shouldsupplies the loop voltage. Best regards, Remo

Then you can use the resitor to bridge unused inputs. If you have selected 4DMU (4 wire) you need to wire the unused chanels in series with the used channel. Rosegarden Posts: 63 Rating: (0)	Thank you Marcjan for the clear respons. Was very helpful. the problem lay's in the fact thatthe channels are passive channels. With other words, the loop themself supply's the current. Not the ET200 module. I can't reconnect them using the the 2-wire variant becausethis will cause error's Active loop and a active channel. We've decided to let the loops and channels in place. Adding optical separation modules would be a alternative to think about in a later stage. Regards, Remo

AutoGen_233335 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	In our project we are using the 6ES7 331-7NF00-0AB0 analogue card. We are using only one channel of the card (channel 0) with a 2 wire transducer. My question is how can we block the unused channel 1, because we want to use the diagnostic of the group channel 0. I read something about a shunt resistor, but the question is, which resistor and between which connections to place the shunt resistor ?
