Close Simotion Scout.

Make a copy of your project by using Save As in Step-7 or TIA Portal.

Open the new copy of the project, open up Scout.

Delete the axis you want to change. Only click Save, do not compile.

Create a new axis with the same name, but with the different type. For example, Positioning instead of Synchronous. Tie it to the same drive and encoder as before, with the same measurement system settings.

Open the old project side by side on your screen and manually copy over the settings on each of property form pages, remembering that there are multiple tabs. Order of entry matters somewhat, so for example set the Mechanics - gearbox ratios first before trying to set Limits.

I think the method is useful, but I need to rebuild 12 Axes. The work is so heavy.
