Tell me, please, how to check a CP5613-A2 card for operating ?

I have no Simatic CPU with MPI/PROFIBUS DP    DB9-socket .

I have :

- the CP5613-A2 card inserted into office PC, where the Simatic NET 2008 from CD is also installed ;

- "Simatic Field PG M" with MPI/PROFIBUS DP    DB9-socket  with STEP7 and some others SIEMENS programs installed.

Is there any special STEP7 project which I can open in  "Simatic Field PG M" and use its MPI/PROFIBUS DP  interface to communicate with CP5613-A2 card inserted into office PC ?

If it is possible then which soft exactly do I need to have on office PC and on

"Simatic Field PG M" ?  

Also I can try to get Profibus-DP  Bus tester. Can it be useful ?

Hello,

for first check proper functionality inside Device manager, device without errors, driver installed correctly. Then, can you confirm you have PG/PC interface located in Control Panel? If yes, try select your card and maybe try some Diagnostic. Maybe you can select different protocols, also make diagnostic via this protocol to suitable device what you have in your vicinity, network available. I think finding device on defined network can be enough for functionality test. Be carefuly to not set same address depended to selected protocol, devices located on network, hope you understand what you want to do and what you need look for.

But in order to be sure for 100% in a CP5613 proper functioning I think it must be a communication program that can be started on my Field PG M and on my office PC (under WinXP for example).

They both have MPI\Profibus DP interface and can be directly connected one to another.

Does anybody know anything about the communication program ?

ok, but still i think if you can check node visibility via Diagnostic option, is enought for functionality. Maybe look to link, if something can be available for you:
