How to choose high version of HMI in portal v15.1.?

Tristin Member Joined: 8/23/2021 Last visit: 10/24/2023 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	hi, how can you choose high version of HMI in portal v15.1. i can't do that is_razi is_razi Hi there, I have a problem with a project I've done in TIA 15.1 before and now when I try to open the project in TIA 16 it starts to upgrade the project to version 16 but the process finally end up in a some errors. could someone help me to get through this problem please? the error messages I get are as follow: -The device Device_1 is not supported in this version. Change the HMI device type in the source project. Refer to documentation. -Error in the conversion method: Siemens.Simatic.Hmi.Utah.Device.Upgrade.DeviceConverter.ConvertHmiDeviceToV16(IHmiConversionData)! -The conversion has failed. An error occurred during conversion of the type 'Object' (model type 'Siemens.Simatic.Hmi.Utah.Common.Base.HmiConvertData').10/16/2021 12:02:31 PM -Unconverted object type found: 'Object' (Model type 'Siemens.Simatic.AlarmServices.Model.LangConnector.AlarmServicesDataContainer')10/16/2021 12:02:31 PM -Unconverted object type found: 'Object' (Model type 'Siemens.Simatic.FPlus.FEngine.Interface.Model.FailsafeInfo')10/16/2021 12:02:31 PM -Unconverted object type found: 'Object' (Model type 'Siemens.Simatic.Hmi.Utah.Common.Base.HmiConvertData')10/16/2021 12:02:31 PM -The project or library possibly contains data that cannot be upgraded by the currently installed software. I had to open the project in V15 and then change the selected op panel version to a higher version which was supported in V16 or V17. Then the project become upgradable . I found out this when I tried to open the project in V17 which messaged me about the version of selected panel . TIA V16 didn't issue any message to guide user about the problem but V17 fortunately did. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from error while upgrading HMI project from V15.1 to V16.

So I guess, in is_razi's V15.1 project there was a device with V12 or V13. And after updating this in V15.1 first (to V13 SP1 or higher), it was possible to open the project with V16. I hope it is understandable with all those version numbers. Regards, Frink

is_razi Experienced Member Joined: 3/13/2009 Last visit: 3/5/2025 Posts: 132 Rating: (1)	Just right click on the HMI in the left pan of TIA and then select the"change device type" then in the newely opened window you can select a new device or you would just change the version,which is the case for our problem, through a drop down menu. As far as I can remember In my case the version was 13 and I changed it to v15.1.
