Hi!

I’m just trying PROFINET for the first time. I have a good experience with Profibus, but an virgin with ProfinetJ

I have configured PLS S7-1500 with CM1542. I have configured a ET200S node with some I/O cards. I have tried to assign the ET200S to both PLC and CM I/O system but no success.

The main error is “IO device failure – IO device not found”. In advance I have configured correct IP address to ET200S using PST software, so the IP should not be the problem. But I don’t know do I need to load some more configuration direct to the ET200S or it happens as in ProfibusDP there the master have the configuration of the slaves.

You see in the attached pictures the online status, Article number Online for the ET200S is “?” like the device can not be discovered, but it is on the net and have a correct IP address.

Can some one explain what I need to do to get it working, please!

Just a simple question: have you also assigned the Profinet name to the ET200S? It should be exactly the same as the profinet name in the hardware config. Let me know if I should elaborate on this if it is something you haven't checked.

Now I 'see' it, I was trying to do something With MAC address but found no possibility for that.

I configured the IP address With PST software, there I can also change the node name now it is node142 (example) then I gave my node the same name in HW config and it Works :)
