How to configure X1 of CPU315-2DP for DP??

CPSTML Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hey there every one!!! I was hopping to use my CPU 315-2DP for setting up two separate profibus networks. Is it possible?? I was trying to use X1 and X2 both for DP comm. However, it seems that the X1 is exclusive for MPI and X2 for DP? Can i use the X1 for DP comm?? If so... HOW??? I cant seem to find any option in both HW config and Netpro....Please HELP... Thanks... Regards, Siddharth

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, In this manual : http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12996906 In chapter 8, you will find the technical data of the CPUs For the 315-2DP with order number: 6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0 1st interface Type of interface Integrated: RS485 interface Physics RS 485 Electrically isolated No Interface power supply (15 to 30 VDC) Max. 200 mA Functionality • MPI Yes • PROFIBUS DPNo • Point-to-point connectionNo For a 317-2DP however, the firts insterface can be configured for DP If you want to have Profibus DP networks, I am afraid that you will need a communication processor (CP)

CPSTML Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	I see. Infact i was afraid of the same but thanks a lot. Well i have a CP342-5. However to use the same i have to use functions DP_RECV and DP_SEND since the slaves connected to the CP342-5 are not acesscible directly to the CPU. Is there a easier way?? Regards, Siddharth
