How to connect a W744-1pro with W788-1pro

sandum3k3k Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello! I got a little problem. How do you connect a Scalance W744-1PRO Client with a Scalance W788-1PRO AP in the Web GUI? The AP have ip 192.168.2.100, and the Client have ip 192.168.2.101. I just cant find where to set up the connection between the client and AP in the web gui.

Just connect the laptop/PG/PC with the W788-1PRO and follow the wizards (basic is the most important one). Then do the same for the Client. But pay attention to the settings for the interface where you can fill in the MAC-Adress as Auto Adopt or with some aother settings. Here you need to know what kind of data you are transferring: PN IO: Set Adopt MAC Manually and fill in the MAC of the device you want to connect. Normal TCP/IP: Fill in Üse own MAC Address or Auto Adopt MAC. If all the settings are correct (Client settings must match the AP settings) and both device have been restarted everything needs to function without problems. Good luck.

What did you setup in the item where you specify which mac address needs to be used? Is't it Auto Adopt? If so what is connected to the client if you can't ping it from the AP-side? You must remember that when nothing is connected and the W744 needs to learn/adopt a MAC the led R1 stays blinking because it's not communication/being able to connect to a AP. If this happens you can set the device in Use OWN MAC Address then the blinking will stop and nothing has to be connected on the wired side of the W744.

sandum3k3k Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Yes it is.I have a good connection. But got a still got a problem. On the AP I have a S7-300 Cpu connected, and on the client I have connected a ET 200S. The connection works fine, but after about 1 hour the CPU miss the connection to the ET 200S. The signal is good enough between the AP and client, butthecpustill loose connecion to the et 200s. Are there some settings that can hold the connection up?

If it's IEEE 802.11h I will suggest you to change this towards one of the other standards. And do you see some Overlap AP in the "Information" from the Access Point? Is in the client (W744) the option connect to any SSID enabled or disabled? If disabled, how many SSID's are listed in the SSID List? Furthermore it's also interesting what the MLFB number and the FW of the PN IO Device.
