How to connect Raspberry PI and PROFIBUS?

I am tasked with building profibus master and slave network using Rpi and Rs-485 convertor .

One Rpi will be master and other will be slave as shown in the attached picture.

How can I assign address to master and slave rpi boards to use in profibus initialization sequence of master and slave.

Please support.

I thought the Profi label was protected Intellectual Property.   

Don't the Profibus police (meaning their lawyers) go after none-licensed applications?

I agree that the development of Profibus hardware must be licensed and eventually certified.

I used to follow (distantly) a forum for Profibus developers; it used to be part of the Profibus.com site, I believe. I have not participated for a while, and i cannot locate it anymore.  If I can find the forum URL I will post it here. What I retain from that interaction is that the use of certified ASIC chips and development kits transferred to the user some form of extension of the license that was purchased by the creators of these ASICs, and allowed him the right to use the ASIC in a new design of a Profibus master or slave.

Since the suggestion posted in the raspberry.pi.com forum included the use of these ASICs I understood that this issue was covered.

I would be interested to find out if my understanding of the issue is correct, if anyone has any idea.

I have found a link on Profibus.com to open the Profibus and Profinet forum, where I used to look at development issues.

The page gives an Error 404 "Page not found" reply now... It seems it is no longer accessible.
