Did you solve the problem? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Connection between plc s7-300 and WSB 400 series(MAguire blender) by MLAN protocol (ethernet port/ modbus).

In the hardware manual, I read that the equipment has several protocols over which it can communicate (MLAN, Modbus, Profibus). The first is enabled by default and the second and third can be enabled in the settings. The question is - what exactly should I do to connect this equipment or is this not realistic? Thank.

Duris_I Diamond Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 3/26/2025 Posts: 10837 Rating: (836)	Hello, still not clear what exact device you want connect to PLC (I expect extrusion machine maybe) and what is your complete task, use4 of PLC also to some other tasks. I can now recommend only solution with communication to Modbus TCP, S7-1200 can be used better than S7-300 (relative higher price and also not so easy cfg and programming in this situation). Maybe if you send us next idea what you want also do in prj, other users give you more options.

I need to connect the extrusion module to the controller and then transfer the data to the server. Also, 3 sensors will be connected to this controller. Data with the sensor will also be transmitted to the server. I already asked colleagues and they also advised me to choose the 1200 version.

"Compatible with all leading PLCs from manufacturers such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider etc." But then I found the following information that confused me. Duris_I Diamond Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 3/26/2025 Posts: 10837 Rating: (836)	Hello, if documentation states with that dev to dev capability with protocols, you don't need Gateway, only if your one device has Profibus already prepared and you want use f.ex. MB TCP on PLC side, then you need use Gateway to change protocols. Hope this explanation is clear... Update: better explain now where you read about that Anybus Gateway implementation. In my opinion it can be only helpful hint in that case previously mentioned...

Since I know the addresses of the parameters I need, (Addresses) I will only need to read this data and save it in plc. I read tha manual from there Manual Attachment files.zip (149 Downloads)

Simply if you configure LineMaster with MB TCP option (as Server I expect) it need IP and Port defined (def. 502). Then you can connect via ETH link to it and read/write data as is preffered/permissed. In this case you don't need Gateway. Update: I think from that Presentation isn't really clear info, I recommend check system manual or contact manufacturer about clear information about available protocols/ports. If Linemaster has only some internal protocol (M...), you need have then Gateway (AnyBus expected) but contact manufacturer what I mentioned.

If I turn on ModBus, I’m not sure if several protocols can work at the same time. ps The series and usb are free.
