How to connect WinCC with PLCSIM 5.4 with ethernet?

rtd Posts: 30 Rating: (6)	PLCSIM 5.4 accept Ethernet. So, how can I connect WinCC (in PC#1) with PLCSIM 5.4 (in PC#2 with step 7 configured to connect with a PLC in Ethernet)? I need to set the IP address of the PC#2 to the same configured for the PLC? In WinCC, the IP address of the PLC must be the configured in step 7 for the real PLC or the IP address of PC#2?

For a long time plcsim worked with MPI only,"virtual" MPI only, that is wincc,step7+plcsim are one the same machine!!!! I believe the new connection types in PLCSIM V5.4 (DP, IE, pc internal) are vitual too. Ijust checked the "plcsim user manual", but i found nothingabout your "great" feature!

Hi I was reading your thread about PLCSIM over ethernet and wondered if you found a solution? I would like to connect two machines: 1. a WinCC server 2. a laptop running Step7 & PLCSIM. The driver connection I want to use is ethernet (to model our final system). PLCSIM manual says this is possible, but we cannot make it work. PING'ing both ends can see each other, but no driver connections are working. I am beginning to think that it might not be actually possible, Thanks for any help you can give me. Nige
