But one way of making a variable sized array is using an ANY pointer. You may need to declare the any pointer in the temp memory of a FC and access its elements by directly addressing the local memory i.e %LB0 (be very careful the local memory offset does not change) An Excerpt from the TIA portal Help (look up ANY in the help "index" for complete detail) An ANY type parameter points to the start of a data area and specifies its length. -Data type:Data type of the elements of the data area -Repetition factorNumber of elements of the data area -DB numberData block that contains the declaration of data area elements. -Memory area:Memory area of the CPU that stores the data area elements. -Start address of the data in the format "byte.bit" So what you now have is complete control over access to a variable size block of I/O or memory or whatever you want. Again I am not sure what you are try to do or acheive, so i guess that you want variable memory block declaration. I am not sure how you want to use or access. If you can explain in more detail what you are trying to do it will help us find the solution for you.

It's not possible to change anything during Runtime, but it gives som flexibility if you have to change several Arrays, Functions or FunctionBlocks. If you open the Default Tag table you must find the User Constants Panel. Add a ConstandName ie. MaxSize Type Integer and set it's value to ie. 100 Create a DB Create a Variabel of type Array. In Size of the Array set 0.."MaxSize" If you have to change the ArraySize later on, just change your constant and compile.
