How to create a "goto location" search box by entering Tagnames??

schreyer Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hi All, I need to create a 'goto' search box for my project, anyone has experience doing it? If i use C-script, how do i go about doing it? Basically how its suppose to work is that user just have to type in the tagname of the particular device, lets say a motor.Runtime would then automatically go to the picture where themotor is. Eg. click on "goto" button, pops up search box saying "please enter tagname". Lets say the tagname is "PM-1234". So i just enter that tagname, then it goes to where it is. [:(]?? Regards Schreyer

schreyer Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hi again, I copied the button that do search by tag in @button11.pdlto my project overview. But it doesn't work. It show a alarm message "Group display error at startup". What does it mean?? To me it seems like an application called "taganw.exe" cannot be called. Sorryto all, for the inconvenience caused by me. schreyer Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hi, Ok, that solves the message. But there is another problem, i'm not using the template in wincc for my project( @Screen ). I already got my own template, so when i copied the Buttons for the "search by picture" from @button11.pdl. The Bildanw.exe still execute, but when i choose a picture to open. Its says something like "picture unable to open". Its got to do with some splitscreenwizard. So i figure that even if i did manage to find "Taganw.exe", the same situation will happen. <<Taganw.exe : an application similar to what i mention above butit make use of tag names instead>> I still cannot implement it into my system, plus on top of that. Its a .EXE file which i have no way to change how it works. Is there any other way, other than@button11.pdl that you mentioned? For example, making use of C-script's cmp function after getting the string entered into the searchbox. Which i personally think that its very time consuming and full of hazards. Is this correct? When I try to manually run the program it just terminates itself immediately. The only other way I can see to do this would be: a) Program it yourself using the ODK b) Use the Cross-Reference Editor to manually build your own lookup list. You can store this in a database and then use C / VBS scripting to open the correct picture. Of course you would have to manually keep the lookup list up-to-date. Neither solution is ideal and involves a lot of scripting. But I cannot see any other way to do this. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
