Hello sudha_chennai, there are many possibilities diagnosing a broken ring. Look at this application, there are some examples described http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/33696406 The visualization via HMI can be done with SNMP and the SNMP OPC Server. The profinet io devices provides snmp variables like the port state. These variables can be read out and handled by WinCC. Greetings, Pittiplatsch |

Hello sudha_chennai, All PROFINET devices supports the PROFINET diagnostic. With special data records, you can read out the state of the modules. In your case, the data record w#16#802A is perfect. This data record includes the port status of the module. A description of the structrue from the data record you find in the pdf (last site) of this faq http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/38566021 The byte of the data record, which includes the link state of the ports you can analyze with HMI. I think, if an error occurs in the profinet network, a special OB (OB85, OB 82...i´m not sure of the exactly number) is called. In this way, you can also visualize the port states...
