I try to create backup with Simatic Prosave V16, but I cant connect to a device. Im sure it is connected because I can find hmi panel in tia portal by accessible devices. Please help

Hi,

First thing that comes in mind is problem with addresses. With ProSave you need to be on a same subnet with HMI-Device.

TIA-Portal finds Devices from different subnets and when connecting assigns temp. IP to your programming device.

You told that you can see it inTIA under accessible devices. You can check IP and subnet from there. Or directly on HMI at WinCE control panel.

You can also do ProSave operations directly from TIA. That way you can automatically get temp IP from same subnet. 

You do not need to give subnet mask when connecting. You just need to know that you can access the if your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 . 

With my example network

HMI address is 10.10.10.20 so your programming device can have address 10.10.10.1...254, so all the addresses from last space are available.

ah sorry maybe stupid question: where to set programming device?

I ques that you can only do that if you add your device to an project.

Just set your PC address e.g. like below and connect to HMI with ProSave from same network . Not through router it does not matter that the router is there just connect cable on the same network, maybe even directly to device.

If you connect with router you need to know default gateway, which is 192.168.0.100 on the network that the HMI is in.

Thank you for your effort but unfortunately it didnt help. I connected cable on the same network,  directly to device, didnt use router and I set everything  like you typed me but I have the same problem 

if nobody answers I will contact technical support tomorrow.
