How to establish communication with S7-400 system with unknown IP address

e_ashish Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Hi All I want to establish the communication with CP 434 on S7-400 Rack. I don’t know the IP address of the target ( Ethernet CP) & I don’t have other medium to communicate with the system ( MPI adaptor ) . In this case how I can establish communication with S7-400 system with my programmer using TCP IP . Regards

There you can set the IP configuration and see the MAC Adress and IP for the accessible devices. See FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/14929629for more information and download of the tool.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, as long as you have STEP7 you do not even need the PST Tool because there is the function PLC > Edit Ethernet Nodes ... by the use of this you will find (browse...) the CP, as long as the CP is newer than the CP 443-1 EX 10. (I think) As soon as you have the IP and / or MAC of the CP you may upload or download the PLC program from / to the PLC. Best regards J_Bell
