How to force WinCC to close upon windows shutdown ?

BUT, there is also a winccshutdown.exe file which can be used to close wincc, but I have no idea if your UPS will wait until all programs have closed properly before shutting down windows. with regards Ikkezelf

PPA Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, Thank you for the comment. I will try winccshutdown tomorrow... I'm under XP pro, using shutdown.exe utility in the ups shutdown script. Wincc seems to stop correctly before the power shutdown, but at restart it complains as if it was badly killed. Regards, Philippe.

Hello Philippe,
there is a nice addon to shutdown WinCC. Have a look at this: ShutdownWinCC.
I used this addon several times, my customers and I are very happy about it.

There are 5 options to shutdown WinCC:

1	WinCC is quitted and the WinCC-databases are saved.
2	WinCC is quitted, the databases are saved and the user is logged off the operation system.
3	WinCC is quitted, the databases are saved and the computer is shut down.
4	WinCC is quitted the databases are saved and the operation system is restarted.
5	WinCC is quitted, the databases are saved and the computer is shut down and turned off. Only possible with WinCC.

As I said , your database will not be saved etc. Tomcat has already shown about "winccshutdown" It's strongly recommend to use that addon

However, there is a command available via the Open Development Kit which has been mentioned before on these forumsDMExitWinCCEx() Most UPS tools have the facility to trigger a Windows VB script andyou can use this script to set a binary tag in WinCC by using the following VB script. dim mcp set mcp = CreateObject("WinCCRuntime-Project") mcp SetValue "ShutDown",1 set mcp = nothing You can then trigger a C script in WinCC when the ShutDown value has a logical value of true. DMExitWinCCEx(DM_SDMODE_POWEROFF) This should shutdown the WinCC project and then exit Windows. Regards
