How to make a transparent button?

I have tryed everything but with wrong results. In Grahisc Designer: I have a picture in the background and I would need to set differents areas on the picture so when I click on an area a new screen comes up. What I do: - set a Button/TextStatic on the area what I want to cover - Properties of the button /Styles/Fill type/Transparent - But it does not work in runtime as when mouse cursor is over the area it is impossible that a windows appears. However, on the edge of the button it is possible.why? Thanks in advanced

Tubbie Posts: 52 Rating: (3)	hello, its not really a button, but will work very well ;) place a rectangle in your picture, right click--->properties: styles: line weight: 0; fill pattern: solid filling: dynamic filling: yes fill level: 0 events ---> mouse---> mouse action: "code" now place the rectangle over the your different areas... regards tubbie

Sijee Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	You can make a transparant button just as you did. The only thing you need to do is to fil the text in your button with blanks (Spacebar). In that way you fill your button with text on witch you can click. If you don't do this you press thru the button on what is underneat. Kind regards

Standard --> Windows Object --> Button 2. Fonts: You can leave it blank(No Space-bar needed) 3. Effects: Object Transparency-> 100, Global Shadow-> NO, Global Color Scheme-> NO, WinCC Style-> User Defined, Display Options-> Picture Only And then you can add any event as per your operation on this transparent button. For example I've added a pop-up screen on the button. If you do not have Object Transparency option in your version, you can go to STYLES-> Fill Pattern: Transparent(1), Line Weight->0 and then follow step 2 &3. Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 12/9/2024 Posts: 14350 Rating: (1793)	Hello The Start of the topic was in 2008 in this early WinCC Versions the functionalities to create a transparent button wasn´t as good as now in the latest Versions. in the past you often have used rectangles for this, but now in the currrent version for example you can easily use a common button and use like described the tranparency setting as supposed. Bye Murof

Only difficulty I am having is that by setting the transparency to 100 then the button becomes invisible on the development screen so it is easy to forget it is there How to overcome this problem? I thought one way is to set the transparency to 90 ... so the button is just visible. Then put a c script on the transparency setting that returns a value of 100. in that why the transparency is set to 100 when running. It works ... But this seems complicated ? But there is no dotted background like in WinCC flexible or other HMIs. I do also not know any other way Bye Murof
