Hello!

There is a working plant controlled by s7-300 and ktp 700 basic pn. The plc S7-300 project  is under classic Step7 v5.5 and the panel project is under WinCC Advanced  TIA Portal v13.1. The plant is working continuously so I cant stop it.

And I need to make some changes in graphic screens and project texts in panel project and then download it in real panel. I am quiet  new in TIA Portal. I have made these changes and tested it with a panel simulator. So now I need to download it to the real panel. But I have never did such tasks before. And I afraid to damage existing working panel project and stop the productioning. How can I solve this problem? Maybe someone could advice me steps 1,2,3 ...) which should I do?

Hello!

After reading manuals I suppose to do the following:

1. Switch off panel power supply

2. Connect patch cord to panel and notebook with tia portal

3. Open TIA Portal and compile panel project

4. Switch on panel power supply

5. Ping the panel from notebook to test ethernet connection

6. If step 5 is ok then go to the Control panel in ktp700 and activate transfer mode. As I have read in the manual then tranfering process should start.

7. After tranfering process end switch off panel power supply then disconnect the patch cord and connect plc ethernet cable.

8. Switch panel power on and test new project in runtime.

Please approve these steps. And if I miss anything point out please.

It might be, that panel will go automatically to transfer mode, when you initiate a transfer using WinCC TIA portal.

One more question:  if I understand correctly this document I can download project to panel without direct connection to it but also via ethernet switch without disconnection panel from plc network and switching off panel power supply. Am I right?
