Just looking at the C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\WinCC\diagnose folder with multitude of the files.

Which are the ones used most often for the troubleshooting?

Does anybody know what is the structure of the files - is there any manual for it maybe (i could not find)

I don't think there is specific documentation on this.

I only know this FAQ for diagnosis/analysis when the "Self diagnostics" message occurs in WinCC system:

Why does the message "Self diagnostics" appear and how do you analyze this (WinCC V7, PCS 7 and WinCC Runtime Professional)?

In my experience, I have used mainly the following logs:

- WinCC_Sys_0X.log ->

It contains events that the WinCC system experiences and stores in these files, overwriting them as they occur in order from 01 to 05.

Inside you can find chronological events on services, archive system, script execution, redundancy, connections, etc.

- SIMATIC_S7-1200_S7-1500_Channel_0X.LOG ->

Contains events related to the connection between the Runtime and the S7-1200/1500 controllers through the S7-1200 / S7-1500 communication channel.

- LicenseLog.xsl / LicenseLog.xml ->

It contains general information about the installed licenses, necessary, missing... depending on the type of WinCC Runtime project that is running.

If anyone has additional information or any corrections/comments on this topic, it would be very useful to know!
