How to operate (read/write) Festo valve on profibus?

hello;

I am facing problem in locating Festo pneumatic valve on Step 7. 

in hardware window when click on Festo module it shows address e.g. 104 to 107 ( digital output as per drawing ) but when I search in program or cross reference sheet. it is not visible.

communication is via profibus,

Siemens plc s7 300 and step 7 

festo valve : CPX- FB 13

pls note appropriate GSD file is already installed. 

Can any one help to define or any manual as help to understand how to operate (read/write) Festo valve on profibus.

Please show us a screenshot of the hardware configuration of your Festo CPX-FB13, including all pneumatic valves, so we can see how the addressing is distributed on the modules.

And please compare you configuration with the samples in the Festo manual below, it might give you an idea of the relationship between the CPX module and the Profibus addressing (starting on page page 2-30):

In cross reference check if you could find PQB104, PQB105, PQB106 PQB107 or PQW104, PQW106 or PQD104.

NO non of them are visible. only PQW 288 is visible 

Pls note I want to excess the value of festo valves to operate via software.

Piscean's idea was sound, you may want to extend that to standard input/output addresses.

I would suggest you go down the same Reference Data page you showed us earlier, looking for combinations of addresses that connect to addresses QW104 to QW107: Your hardware configuration has reserved a 32-bit area starting at QW104, depending on how they are used in your program your 32 bits could be accessed as:

- bits Q104.0, Q104.1...Q107.7

- bytes QB104, QB105, QB 106, QB107

- word: QW104, QW106

- dword: QD104

if you find any address in that range used in the program, look at the column that shows in which FC or FB it is used, that would point to where it is used in your program.

Take a screenshot of that area of the Reference Data table so we can examine it with you.

Very sorry, I have to disagree with your last post.

The screenshot you post contradicts you completely.

Go back to my last post, I pointed out that the valve addresses could be reached by bit (ex: Q104.7), byte (QB104, word (QW104) or dword (QD104); the only difference is whether you read/write them individually (by bit) or in blocks of 8, 16 or 32 bits in your program.

Look at the first line of your screenshot, it examines Q104.7 (which is the most-significant-bit of QB104); it tells you it is used in FC31, Network 2, and is being read. The line begins with a small box-cross symbol, which tells you to click on it to open other lines showing further uses of this same bit address. In the same table, Q105.6 (bit 7 of QB105) is being written to in FC 76, NW14.

The first 11 lines in your screenshot refer to bit addresses within the QB104 to QB107 range (the addresses for your pneumatic valves on the Festo CFX-FB13 slave), I would look at preceding lines to see if other bits in QB104 are being referenced elsewhere in your program.

Sop please open the FCs referred to in the table, to see where you read/write the values for these valves.

Thanks for reply; i have workout again and now attached file gives you complete picture (i hope). 

In short my festo valve are attached on this station and particulary i want to excess digital output from 106.3 to 106.6 (squeezer 1 to 4).

And yes SFC 14 and 15 are visible.

OK, since you are concentrating on valves controlled at addresses in QB106, let's concentrate on Q 106.0, first in your electrical drawings, as an exercise.

Look at the screenshot below.

As pointed out in the screenshot, A 106.0 is a digital output, and irepresents the same address as Q 106.0. "A" comes from the German Ausgang (output), whereas "Q" is the English mnemonic for output. Since your electrical drawings come from Germany, they would use German mnemonics, whereas your program was written by an English programmer, using English mnemonics.

Now, read the line from the reference data that opens with Q 106.0: this output bit is controlled in block FC 75, in network 14. You do know how to look inside a specified block? Note that the program listing you have shown us has been uploaded from the S& CPU, so it is difficult to read: no symbol definition, nor network comments. And it is in STL (no graphic representation). But it should be relatively easy to understand the control of a digital output.

Please show us the code that controls Q 106.0 in FC 75.

Now, your specific question relates to Q 106.3 to Q 106.7; however these addresses do not come up in the reference data you have shown. At first glance it would seem that they are not used in the original program.
