How to process string data in WinCC Unified using JS?

AutoGen_6707052 Joined: 10/19/2023 Last visit: 11/29/2023 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Guys, I have a small problem, I wanted to take a String looking like this (HMI_RT_1::[mystring] ) and find the Position on the ("::") -> indexOf("::"). then take the slice function to cut the string. [Replace won't work because this Modul could be used in Different Programs where the "HMI_RT_1" could differ, only "::" stays the same] Everything is coded in the JS module of TIA18 WinCC Unified -> When I say: Won't work means the project stops working at all. -> newstring.slice(mysting.indexOf("::")) (This won't work) I can: let mysting = item.Screen; (Get the string I want to process) let int = mystring.indexOf("::"); let int2 = Math.trunc(int); let newstring = str.slice(int2); (using int [without conversion] won't work) But I can't: Screen.Items("myTextBox").Text = newstring; ((Won't work) Set text in textbox to my new string) or int2 = int2+1; (Won't work but the typeOf(int2) returnes number) Can someone help pls? I have no idea why the JS script won't work.

I can create the string that I want to show and test the property of the string ( typeof(mystring) -> returns: string) but I can't print it to my label. let str = item.Screen; const wordArray = str.split("::"); let mystring = wordArray[1]; I can print the type to my text: myTextBox.Text = typeof(mystring); but can't myTextBox.Text = mystring; also, I tried EA-Fields like: myScreen.Items("EA-Feld_1").ProcessValue = mystring; -> which does not work either.

The dubug.Write is a Global function I created but has no impact on the problem.

Stefan Arcularius Platinum Expert Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 12/8/2023 Posts: 2312 Rating: (372)	Hi, I see a possible cause of an error in the location of the IO field named "EA-Feld_1": This element is searched for in the screen containing the "scrnwMainDisplayWindow" screen window, not in the screen within the screen window. So, in my opinion, this is more related to the output than to the splitting of the screen. Try using your WriteDebug method to print the value of str2. Kind regards Stefan

PS: Screen.Items("EA-Feld_1").ProcessValue = "I Love TIA "; ->Works with the exception of the emoji ;) and Screen.Items("EA-Feld_1").ProcessValue = typeof(str2); -> works writes "string" as label Kindest regards
