Hello! I wonder if there is a way to protect a SCL source so that when opened need to enter a password. Thank you.

Hello C. Reyes; I know of 2 ways to protect selected blocks in a S7 Program: 1- Know-how-protect: How can you install block protection for an S7-SCL block? This protection simply bars any user to see the code in the blocks, to see/modify it you must have a copy of the original source. Think of all the Siemens blocks available for download where you can use a function but not open it and modify the code. 2- Code encryption: How do you install the improved block protection for FBs and FCs in STEP 7 V5.5 onwards? This encryption uses a password, so it would be closer to your requirements. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
