How to Reset CP340 through user Program

Reymond Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	Hi Good day is there a way to reset CP-340 through user program in plc. I have 27pcs CP340 and CPU 317-2dp. Im using ascii protocol, sometimes a certain CP loses communication to the device during operation. In order to resume the communication I need to restart the CPU and the communication resumes. Is there a way that I dont need to restart the CPU just to resume the communication to the CP that loses communication to the devie? Thanks in advance

There is a P_RESET (FB12) block that you can call that resets the internal receive buffer of the CP340. I cannot try it here as I do not have a CP340. Good luck.

Reymond Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	I'm really sorry for wrong info, my CP is CP-341 with part number 6ES7 341-1AH01-0AE0 I search the library and found the reset buffer for CP 340 but for CP 341 I cant see. Thank you in advance

The nearest I can see is to use the R parameter of the P_SND_RK / P_RCV_RK calls. This causes the CP to cancel the job in hand, and in the case of receive, it junks the incoming buffer. You could try that. What exactly is the problem you are having with the CP341?

Reymond Posts: 112 Rating: (0)	Thank you Smiffy for your reply, My exact problem is sometimes the device (Petrocount) loses communication to CP-341 for the reason that I was not able to identify yet. And I need to restore the communication without restarting the PLC, but there is no other way I can find to restore the communication except restarting the CPU. I have lots of devices connected point to point with ascii communication to my CP's. I restart the power of Petrocount then it loses communication to CP. Then I tried to reset the communication by turning on R then turning it Off but the communication didn't resumes. I only see one scan good communication from NDR parameter of the rcv FB then after that it loses again the communication.

Turn off the message frame buffering and clear the "prevent overwriting" flag as shown in this thread. It might just prevent the problem occurring in the first place.

To reset the card, I powered the card throught a 24V output on the PLC. So when I detect a larg amoung of error, I cut the power to the card and restart it after 10 secondes. It help but sometimes, I still have to cut power the the rack also. Hope it help Reagrds
