How to simulate connection between S7-1500 and MP 277

hdhosseini Diamond Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2025 Posts: 6858 Rating: (1366)	The first step would be creation of project in TIA 12 and performing the initial parameterization.Step marked with snapshot number in the attachmnet: In the first snapshot, you can enter a valid name(1) for project and the author name.By clicking the "create" button(2), your project will be created and ready for further development. After creation of the project,view illustrated in the snapshot#2 will be appeared.Here you can select the project view(1) Attachment 1_creation.zip (384 Downloads)

hdhosseini Diamond Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2025 Posts: 6858 Rating: (1366)	In the second section, we focus on adding the S7-1500 controller and parametrize it.Finally, a simple logic will be created for a fast test.Steps are determined by numbers and you can find snapshot related to each step in attachment: Default structure of an empty project in TIA .As a starting point, we plan to add a controller.For doing so select "add new device" (1). In this step new window (add new device) will appear.Follow the step shown to select an S7-1500 controller from the list (1). After selecting the controller, click on the "OK" button (2). In the next step, new controller is included in your project.You can parametrize hardware and start developing user's program.As this is not a real case, we skip some parts that are essential for a real test(such as power supply). In our case, we just add a digital output module.For doing so, select an empty slot in the right side of controller (1) and transfer a digital output module from "hardware catalog" to that vacant slot by "drag and drop" (2).In this step, you can change starting address of digital output module (3) and also defining symbols for each channel (4). The next step deals with minor but necessary parameters of controllers.First select the controller (1) and then from general tab of "Device overview" select the "PROFINET Interface" (2).Finally click on "add new subnet" button (3) and accept the default settings. In this section we just implement a simple test logic for check.To do so, in the "project tree" find the "programming blocks" of target controller (1). Open OB1 as the default program block in the controller.Select "LAD" as programming language for simplicity.Implement simple code illustrated in snapshot#5 with addresses mentioned(2). And one of the final steps here to check if our configured controller is valid.That is simple.Select the controller in the "project tree"(1), right click and select "compile"(2) and from available options select "Hardware and Software(only changes" (3). hdhosseini Diamond Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2025 Posts: 6858 Rating: (1366)	In the third section,we pass steps to add an new HMI to the project, parametrize it, add some screens and finally implementing command to controller.Steps are determined by numbers and you can find snapshot related to each step in attachment: After processing creation of a controller,The next step would be adding the HMI to the project.To do so, double click on "add new device" button (1).A new window "Add New Device" will appear.From categories in left side, select HMI (2) and MP 277 8" Touch(3) from list.Click the "OK" (4) button to finalize this step. After creation of database of project related to HMI, new window as shown in snapshot#2 will appear.This wizard helps you do all necessary steps for operation of an HMI.First define the connection to target controller.To connect to a controller, browse(1) for controllers configured in the project.Add the only controller available in the project (2). When you finish the 2nd step, you have view illustrated in snapshot#3.You can go forward by selecting "next" button (1). and after passing all steps in wizard and completing different component of the HMI,You reach to the point to finalize the process by clicking "Finish"(1). As we defined only one screen, this screen is ready for edition.To add a "button", just select one from Elements(1) at the right side of the screen editor.Place the button in place in the screen(2) and change the default text. The next and last step is to define commands on the button.To do so, select the button(1) and its properties go to "Events"(2) , Select type of action on the button(3).For each even (press and release) define a function(4) and assign a bit to it.You assign "set bit" function for press event and "reset bit" for release button.Tag for both actions is "M0.0" with symbolic name "Tag_1" that can be browsed in controller's tag.The final task is to compile the whole HMI and it is like what we have done for controller. hdhosseini Diamond Member Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2025 Posts: 6858 Rating: (1366)	For the final step, we want to test all configurations together.Steps are determined by numbers and you can find snapshot related to each step in attachment: In this stage " PG/PC Interface" should be set on "PLCSIM S7 1200/S7-1500" as shown in the attachment.To access this interface, you can check the control panel of WINDOWS Here we are in the place to download the user's program to a virtual PLC.Run the PLCSIM V12 and create a new project.Go to TIA V12,"project tree" and select the controller.Right click on the controller and select Download to device-->Hardware and Software(only changes). After that, a new windows will appear , there you can set the parameters for proper connection to PLCSIM V12.Follow the step shown in (1) and (2) and click on "load" (3) to download the controller configuration and program to the PLCSIM.Check the PLCSIM to be in "Run" mode. It is time to run a simulated version of selected HMI.Right click on the HMI and select "Start Simulation".If you followed all instruction exactly, you have an panel view as shown in snapshot#4. Now check the logic in combination with the command from HMI.Select the PLC in "project tree" in TIA and select "Go Online" option either from toolbar menu(1) or just right clicking on the controller.Open OB1 ,check the logic online just by selecting "Monitor on/off" (2). Enderman Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I think i have repeated the whole procedure 4th time just now and i cant seem to get past thedownloaing the controller configuration and program to the PLCSIM part. When i click on load button it says that the online target could not be reached and that the connection has failed. I cant seem to make plcsim online either. What to do, what to do...
