Hello hewking103, If you configure the "Logging mode" as cyclical then you do not have to configure the "Trigger mode" or the "Trigger tags" because it will archive the variable every cycle. If you set the "Logging mode" to on demand, you must configure a variable so that when it suffers a rising or falling edge or both, it will log you. If you configure "Loggin mode" as on change, you can or cannot put anything in "Trigger mode" and "Trigger tags" then the archiving will be done when the variable to be archived changes its value or you can configure that when another variable undergoes a change it will do the archiving. |

Hi hewking103, Configuring a tag trigger is not possible for the "Cyclic" logging mode. However, for your requirement I would use the "On demand" logging mode and use a boolean trigger that is toggled cyclically when logging is needed. Kind regards |

Hi hewking103, The memory concept allows the use of memory cards or USB storage media. However, since the memory card is mounted in a mode that is less susceptible to power failures, it is recommended to use a memory card. However, since Siemens only tests with a SIMATIC SD memory card ≥ 32 GB, only this type of SD card is supported in the event of an error. A better solution may be to use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Kind regards |

Hi Stefan Thanks for fantastick help so far. Just double checking did you mean SIMATIC SD memory card ≥ 32 or less than 32? Regards

Correct, as Stefan Arcularius mentioned It is always recommended to use Siemens' own SD cards (6AV6881-0AP40-xxxx).External SD cards should be designed for high-frequency read and write access of large amounts of data. FAT32 and NTFS formats are permitted. Which format is more stable depends on the type of use and the memory card used. 32 GB data memory is also recommended. But those that have been 100% tested are Siemens' own 32GB SD (SD memory cards, 512 MB, 2 GB to 32 GB for SIMATIC HMI Panels, HMI Unified and IPC) |
