Correct, as Stefan Arcularius mentioned

It is always recommended to use Siemens' own SD cards (6AV6881-0AP40-xxxx).

External SD cards should be designed for high-frequency read and write access of large amounts of data. FAT32 and NTFS formats are permitted. Which format is more stable depends on the type of use and the memory card used. 32 GB data memory is also recommended.

But those that have been 100% tested are Siemens' own 32GB SD (SD memory cards, 512 MB, 2 GB to 32 GB for SIMATIC HMI Panels, HMI Unified and IPC)

Yes, and this is probably true for all other manufacturers as well.

No, you can format it. However, because the 32GB card can be used as a system memory card - which requires special formatting - if you format such a card, it will no longer be usable as a system memory card, but you can use it as a data memory card.
