Hello TIA Portal WinCC Users.

I am working on an HMI Project in TIA Portal(V19) and need to create two kinds of faceplate(one is small one for simple information and buttons and the other is big one for detailed information and many kinds of buttons)

The Requirement is :

1. An Icon should be displayed by default.

2. When I click the icon, small face plate should appear.

3. when user click the "Expand" button on small faceplate, then the small faceplate should be hidden, and the big faceplate should appear.

4. When the user click the "Collapse" button on big faceplate, it should switch back to the small faceplate.

is There any ways or functions to handle this?

Any advice, best practices or references would be greatly appreciated.

In the following FAQ you can find a guide that shows indications in roder to create faceplates. In the section named "Set up the pop-up faceplate" you can see how to configure it as a popup. In page 43 explains how to close it:

Using your Suggestion, I can make pop-up facepate.

But, it is hard to make the "Expand" button or "Collapse" on one faceplate.

Since I cannot find any properties about it.

So, in my 4 steps above, I only handled 1 and 2 steps. Is any ways or functions for handle 3 and 4 steps?( I can't make any button beside 'x' button which is made.)

- I want to make new button beside 'x' button on pop-up and put some events and properties.

- Is there any extra things in header w/o header name, close button(x button) ??

Any advice or references would be greatly appreciated.

Which HMI do you use? If you use WinCC Unified this should be no problem, you can create everything inside one faceplate andchange only the size of the visible area of the faceplate, I made this a lot of times, in the faceplate container (or in popup its also possible) you have to set the adaption that the container should fit to the size of the Faceplate. and then you can only change the size of the faceplate base screen by script as you need (expand or compress)

If you have WinCC comfort/Advanced it not that easy. And in WinCC Prof there are also other ways doing this.

 I want to make totally 3 faceplate.

1. A icon

2. small popup faceplate which have a button for showing big popup faceplate.

3. big popup faceplate which have a button for showing small popup faceplate.

For below.

In HMI, when i click the icon then small popup faceplate be created.

And when i click the button on small faceplate, then small one be removed and big popup faceplate be created.

Lastly, when i click the button on big faceplate, then big one be removed and small popup faceplate be created.

In short, I want to do swap between two faceplates.

But, consistency error be shown.

'The object 'test_b V 0.0.3 ' from which you want to create a type is inconsistent. The type cannot be released. You can find detailed information in the inspector window.

Or If i make it with global variable the error code like below.

'The definition in this global definition area will be shared between all faceplate container instance of this type.'

Can you solved similar problems before. If have any tips, please let me know.

but why you want do use two different FP if you can use only one for this functionality?

I would keep it very simple and only show or hide the enhanced controls instead of calling other faceplates

It is first time to me. So I don't know such functions for expand faceplate popup.

If it is possible, that is one of good idea. I want to know about it.

Oh, That is a good idea.

But, that is a little difference between what i want.

If i just drag and drop the Faceplate then I control the Property 'Size-fit'. So it is possible.
But, in case of me, I use a icon(it also a faceplate) and when i click it a faceplate pop up be create.

In such case, it is impossible to control the Property 'Size-fit'.

And if i control the width such ways.

I want to not only change the faceplate width, but also change the POP-UP width.

Such things hard since pop up properties controlled by the icon.

Below is icon faceplate click left mouse button event script(only script be possible).
