How to? Tag Logging triggering on binary tag leading or trailing edge

sam w Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello: I am configuring tag logging and would like for the tag to be logged when a certain binary tag either changes from 0 -> 1 or from 1 -> 0. Is this possible? Thanks, Sam

However, I only want to trigger on the tag once per cycle. In other words, this binary tag goes from false to true back to false in one cycle. I only need it to trigger when the tag goes from false to true and disregard the true to false signal. Thanks! Sam

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Sorry for that... when you said "from 0 -> 1 or from 1 -> 0" I understood you wanted to log both cases. I can think of are 2 easy ways to achieve this: - Checking the state change in the PLC side and using another external tag for the alarm. - Using a script in WinCC to check the state change. This action would run upon this tag's change, and check the previous and current values, to trigger a second tag (this could be an internal tag) which would be the tag to trigger the alarm in Alarm Logging... Just remember excessive scripting may damage your performance, so if you have many tags in this situation you should check it in the PLC side. Best regards, Danielle
