How to troubleshoot profibus port?

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 3/9/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi Ragavendiran, You can go online in the hardware with the S7-315 and look what the messages are there. Normally there an go not that much wrong, you have two wires, a red and a green one and if you use connectors from Siemens then you can see easily if the wiring is ok. You may switch down the baudrate, with higher baudrates it is working more critical then with lower baudrates. Also look what the programmed address is in the hardware of STEP7 and check that with the PROFIBUS Slave (most dipswitches). Also check if the PROFIBUS segment is charesteristic pulled to the +5V and 0V with the resistors in the connectors. Look also to the connectors, the Siemens connectors have a in and out, the out is switched off when the switch for the resistors is on (arrow to the inside and to the outside). Good luck, I couldn't think about more then sayed above..
