how to use blocks with parameters you made invisible

Oreca Platinum Expert Joined: 3/14/2008 Last visit: 1/17/2025 Posts: 2161 Rating: (973)	Hello, I have a PID with for example the following parameters: SPEXT, SPEXT_ON, PV_IN, LMNR_IN I'll pick this block from the PCS7 library(using single user project) and then put it in CFC and then customize it with my chosen parameters. If I need three more PID blocks with also the same parameters, how can I make sure that I get the same customised block again? If I just get it from PCS library, I will get the standard block obvious. I think I have to create a personal library, but what are the correct steps to be taken? TThx

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi Sandor-CRX, If I have understood u properly, u wana change the pin status from invisible to visible & vice-versa!!! If this is the case then open the FB & in the I/O assignment change the attribute "S7_visible" accordingly. Hope this helps... Regards Nil

smiffy Platinum Member Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 12/5/2024 Posts: 1548 Rating: (538)	I think what Sandor-CRX was hinting at is can the block in the block catalogue have it's default attributes changed so that when it is dragged in into a CFC it has his/her preferred attribute settings. If that is the case then the answer in no. But do not panic! There is a very simple way of getting round this. Simply copy a block out of the catalogue onto a CFC. Setup the attributes to your personnel liking by selecting the block on the CFC and then selecting properties then selecting the I/O's tab. From here you can set / clear any attributes for each block I/O point (e.g. to make it look invisable clear the "visable" checkbox). When you have a block setup that you are happy with, when you need another block of that type, simply copy the block you have already have on the CFC (the one you personalised) instead of taking a new block from the catalogue.

If I use digital drivers and I want to hide a few parameters, then I have to do that for 1000 I/O. So one time creating the driver block with only the parameters I need, and then use it for the remaining I/O. You explained it right. Thx!
