How to use CP5512 without CardBus slot

Gibernaus Bronze Member Joined: 2/6/2014 Last visit: 7/4/2022 Posts: 236 Rating: (3)	Hello, until a few weeks ago I connected my laptop to a S7-300 CPU via MPI or Profibus using the CardBus CP5512 and the HW Adapter CP5511. Now that laptop is broken and in the new one I don't have the CardBus slot (not available). How can I still continue to use the CP5512 ? Is there a USB adapter to convert the CardBus? Thank you in advance.

Now I'm trying to reuse a laptop with Windows 7 32 bit that has the cardbus slot for the CP5512. I installed the Simatic Manager v5.5 + SP4 + HF8 and the CP5512 drivers were installed correctly. However in Set PG / PC interface if I go to Install / Remove I cannot install the CP5512, it remains in gray. What can it depend on? Thank you. As far as im aware.....the CP5112 is NOT compatible with Windows 7, I have mine working on Windows XP OK. Edit: You may be able to run under Windows 7 32bits- but you need to install SIMATIC NET Drivers under Administrator (or run as Admin) Regards Daniel.

Hati Platinum Member Joined: 9/21/2012 Last visit: 3/28/2025 Posts: 4348 Rating: (489)	PC Adapter USB A2, that one is suitable to be used with MPI / DP, and it's just plugged to your computers USB connector. There is no adapter to use your old CP5511 or CP5512 cad with newer laptops.
