How to use Current date or time in a program

Hello,

I would like to use current date and time in my  LOGO program.I'd like to use them as a value in my program.For example I am monitoring a status of a digital input.once the input is high I want to save the time and date of that event.I'd like to allocate a register to this data and use them in my program.I know on LOGO screen I can do that ,but I want to keep current date and time in my program and use them .As I am concerned ,we can use VM mapping for this purpose but I would like to use it in my LOGO program not on other system.

Hi.

The LOGO is ill suited for processing data such as date and time.
Worse yet.. the real time clock is not highly reliable.

There is a good possibility that what you want to do cannot be done...
but if you explain fully the result you hope to get,
there might still be suggestions to make.

From your description it seems as if you aim for data logging -
THAT is possible as ixo65 suggests.

Maybe you want a longer term timer event started with the input?
Hard to tell without more information.

Unfortunately your wish is not possible.

The user has no direct access to the current date and time in the LOGO! Program. The user can only access it in a message text or, via VM mapping, forward the date and time to a partner device (for example, an HMI or an S7 controller).

If you want to log an event, then there is the possibility to do this with the Data Log (0BA7 or newer).

I would like to stamp time and date on some events and show them on my LOGO TD.So it seems I might as well and I have to log the data and save them on SD card.And I can't show them on MY LOGO TD.

I have other question,If I use external SD card ,do I need to set my PLC to write the data on SD card or it will write them automatically insted of internal EEROM?

Also I would like to know,  does it matter how much is the capacity of SD card or LOGO can just handle 20,000 logs and that's it.I am using 2GB SD card.

On the TDE (or LOGO! display or web server), you can only display the last occurrence of an event with date and time.

Seeing that I did code something, let me add it here.

I was thinking to something like the attached.
