How to use more than 60 message block with 319 PN/DP

Deleted User Posts: 767 Rating: (69)	Hi, I am using the S7319 PN/DP and WinCC 7.0 with STEP7 WinCC integration for my project. In start I did not realize that I cannot use the Alarm_8 or Alarm_8p message blocks with 319 and onlythe Alarm D (single message) or Alarm_SD (single message) are available options. The maximum limit for 319 is 60 Alarm_D or Alarm_SD blocks but at least Ihave 95 trip messageswhichreally need to be configuredusing the message blocks so thatthey can getaccurate time stamps. I am happy to configure the alarms directly in to WinCC. But what should I do to configure all the trip messagesusing the message blocks. Thanks

Secondly, the limit is for "simultaneously" active blocks. That means (message has come, but hasn't gone or not been acknowledged)So, you can use more blocks, if you are sure that they cannot be active simultaneously.

There is no way that I will have 60 active alarms at the same time so it means I can go for Alarm_S or Alarm_SD. Can you please confirm that that figure 60 only means 60 active alarms.

And yes, it is only for simultaneously active alarms. Do remember that an "unacknowledged" alarm is consider as active. Unfortunately, they don't support Alarm_8 (and the siblings)

Deleted User Posts: 767 Rating: (69)	Thanks daga again One more thing is I am trying to do is to add First Up with the trip which trip the system. I can find that which bit comes first and then I am thinking of adding an associated value 'First Up' for the trip messages. But it's a bit lengthy method first to allocate string for each message and then on the basis of trip bit assign one of the string the value 'First Up'. I just wonder is there an easy method possible.

daga Gold Member Joined: 3/18/2009 Last visit: 5/6/2024 Posts: 306 Rating: (94)	Assuming that there cannot be two "First Up" messages, another idea is to just create one message_s block, with associated value being an integer. This integer is decided by your "First Up" bit. Using Text Library and the associated integer value you can display the right text in the event. Then again, this is a new question. Post it as a new thread, you may get more replies.
