how to use starter to create a ARC file for 840D sl drivers or simatic drive system

i have a question:how to use starter to create a ARC file offline for commison 840D sl drivers?

i want use starter to create a sinumerik driver configuration and then make  a (ARC file)

transfer this arc file to NCU and read it.

like upshield method.

now i found another way to generate the arc files, to analyze the acx file and convert it to xml file,then i can read and understand it ! i think i can use xml file to build a arc file for commision without hmi-advanced. but it's a hard work!

What you want exactly?

840Di SL + Sinumerik 611 drives needs simucom u tool & not starter. With simucom U individual drive back up can be taken. With 840Di SL series start up, complete NC backup (*.arc) can be taken which is inclusive of drive back up. 840D SL + Sinamics drives - needs starter to take *.arc back up.

Why you want to use starter when data back up can be easily loaded on CF card of 840Dsl?

 because i found step7 simatic manager can generate sinumerik ARC file, i can build it and then transfer to NCU,so i guess i can build drive ARC file in the starter  then transfer to NCU,

or if you know how to make the ACX files of the drivers,could you tell me the method ?

From the attached snap, it is series start up backup taken by HMI adv. Please refer the attached file, page no 4, while selecting drive back up select ACX (binary format). You may select drive back-up only also.

i think you misunderstand my idea. i know how do do a backup on 840D , i just want to find a way which  can generate a ARC file for drive before commisioning.

if i can generate the DP.arc offline then i can copy to usb disk and take it to on site without PC.

like build a CMC upshield.
