I am having the same problem. I am using a HMI program that I personally didn't make, but should update for current use. But the usage of area pointer I couldn't understand yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello AutoGen_6379256 The area pointer Datarecord is set to an absolute address, so it shoulw work also if there is not set a PLC symbol. The area pointer is kind of a handshake and it is well explained in the Help system: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109813307/77429480843 If you do anyting with the recipe (loading , systemfunction and so on) this is set in the area pointer, then the PLC have to acknowledge this by deleing the area pointer and then the next action can be done. It is often used for a consistent dataset download to PLC or similar tasks. Bye Murof |

The absolute address was not correct. Pointed to different position. |
