How to visualize a local HTML page from Unified application

I would like to know if it is possible - and in case how to do - to visualize a local HTML page inside a WinCC Unified application.

I tried to use the object "Web control" but in "Properties" -> "General" -> "URL", but it accepts only https:// URL.

I once tried to use a "http://" and because it wouldnt accept "http://, I instead wrote the adress to a internal tag, and used the tag and it worked. worth a try i think.

I have also tried to open an "http:// site", as you did, but even it did not work: Siemens has probabily implemented some solution that prevent from opening everything which is not "https".

If I try to load a local HTML page the result is a totally grey page, while if I try to load a http page, the control change http to https automatically.

If we talk about the PC Runtime, to access files (and be able to acces them from the webclient) they need to be on the Webserver.

To achieve this: Place the .html file here:

C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\WinCCUnified\WebRH\public\subfolderName 

You can access it via: https://computername/webrh/subfolderName/filename.html

You can leave out the subfolder. It's just  for structuring, if you have multiple files.

I have not testet it with html files, but that's how normal files work. Http can not be opened because unified itself is a https website. It would be a security risk for the browser to show a secured connection in the url, even though it has not secure parts.

I have tried to do as you suggested to open a local HTML page, but unfortunately it doesn't work: the browser shows me "404: Page not Found".

The only thing that I noticed is that I had to create the folder "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\WinCCUnified\WebRH\public" because it was not already present.

some good and some bad news.

The good ones: I just tested it with an .html page. The Browser Control of Unified is able to display the file. I don't know about all specifics, but a simple .html file works.

Now to the bad one: I'm not sure, why it's not working for you. In the IIS Manager the Website should offer a public folder like this:

Maybe you could check your windows features once again. If that does not help, you should consider asking the siemens technical support for assistance.

Just  some additional information that i just found out:

You don't have to copy the file there. You can add a new virtual directory to you WebServer (in IIS) where your file is located. My Operating System is in German, that's why it might be harder to follow the Screenshot.

Then you can addres it via https://servername/webrh/VirtualDicectoryName/FileName.html
