Hi,

I'm trying to wire a flowmeter to my plc (S7-1200) on a AI card.

the flowmeter have a flow and a temperature output.

So i have 4 wires: brown,black,white and blue.

I put the

-Brown on the L+

-Blue on the M

-Black (flow analog output) on the 0+

-White (temperature analog output) on nothing because i don't need it

the flowmeter is configured to have a 4-20mA signal .

With this configuration i receive a signal of 20890 instead of something around 0 when the flow is at 0.

What did i do wrong?

It would be most helpful if you have made a sketch of the situation you describe. And give the part number of the card.

The flowmeter can be connected directly to the external power supply via the brown and blue wires. These do not need to go directly to L+ and M on the analog card.

• Is L+ of the card connected to the + of the external power supply?
  
  
• Is M of the card connected to the - of the external power supply?
  
  
• Is 0+ only connected to the flowmeter signal?
  
  
• Is 0- connected to the - of the external power supply or bridged to M?
  
  
• Is the hardware configuration of the analog card configured to handle current?
  
  
• Was any attempt made to verify with a hand meter (multimeter) that the flowmeter is functional?
  
  
• Was any attempt made to verify (without the flowmeter) that the analog card is functional?

I try to connect the black wire to another analog module (SM1231) 6ES7 231-4HD32-0XB0 and the signal was around 15, but the signal wasnt changing when the flow rate increased

No, but the flowmeter come with a digital display and i can see it working

I'm not sure if eyes are a correct device to sense current flow. On the other hand you present completely unjustified faith in a hardware.

Yes, it's configured on 4-20mA

No, but the flowmeter come with a digital display and i can see it working

Did you follow the suggestion from huggy_d1 to connect 0- terminal?

Extra suggestion - other unused analog channels should be bridged. Like -1 and +1 terminals are bridged.

1) I try to use a multimeter to read the current between the plc and the black wire of the flowmeter . i read 0.00mA .

when i disconnect the black wire i can read a signal moving around 2000 , when i reconnect it i can read a signal moving around 21000.

2) I try to connect the 0- terminal  to my - of the power supply and it starts to blink red so i remove it.

the error message in TIA Portal  : "Error: High limit exceeded on Input channel Sonde_Débit_Bassin_D'égalisation
