How will the "FS:02" devices be rolled out?

Do they get a new order number or can we randomly get a FS:02 shipped when we order? Is this roll out already in progress? Also what does PG stand for? There is no new MLFB. To be honest I do not know what PG2 stands for, but in R&D and Product Management they use it for our second hardware revision, having an updated processor and some other fixes. Or is there a specific date when the transition will happen? Also, this would break our (and I guess everyone's) existing workflow - we currently have software that we have included in a full IoT2050 Image, based on the 1. x.x image. This image, if I am understanding that correctly, would not work with the FS02 hardware anymore? So any customers, that we already delivered SD Cards or USB Install sticks with our current Image to, would have to throw them away if they receive new FS02 hardware? This means we would need to build a new Image, based on the 1.2.x image asap. And from now on every customer would have to check every device which FS version of the hardware he has so that he can choose the right image to install? If that is true, this is a major breaking change and would be very difficult for us (and others) to handle. Best regards, Benedikt

Depends on which 1.x.x image your stick is based. Image V1.1.1 can still be used on FS:02 devices, V1.0.2 not. EDIT: This is not true! Basic FS:02 and Advanced FS:04 cannot run Example Image V1.1.1! They require from V1.2.1 I think it would make sense to update the software to the Example Image V1.2.x, as it runs a newer kernel (5.10) and Debian 11. "Old" devices can still use Example Image V1.2.x, therefore the firmware needs to be updated. Best regards! EDIT: This is not true! Basic FS:02 and Advanced FS:04 cannot run Example Image V1.1.1! They require from V1.2.1

(That 1.1.1 will work, but anything below won't). Also was there some kind of "deprecation" warning for <1.1.1 images? If yes, where could can I subscribe to updates?

You told that I can use the image from 1.1.1 in a new device, it is possible to use with this: IOT2050 Basic (FS:02), because in this other post: https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/posts/new-example-image-released/269280/?page=0&pageSize=10, you told that: PG2 devices of IOT2050 Basic (FS:02) and IOT2050 Advanced (FS:04) areonly compatible to Example Image V1.2.1! Example Image V1.1.1 does not run. I have the same situation of the colleague, my customer have a application running in the V1.1.1 and now, he bought 3 news one and it comes with FS:02 and the FW V1.2.1. What I could do? The customer just have the image backup from FW 1.1.1. Thank you!

The Basic FS:02 and Advanced FS:04 are not capable of running Example Image V1.1.1! I am very sorry for the mis-information in this thread! In this case the Example Image V1.2.1 needs to be setup from scratch, as the 1.1.1 image cannot be used. Best regards!
