HResult 0x8004610a Error on WinCC

Lib3rty Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	I'm having what I suspect is a compatibility problem. I edited a WinCC project created with WinCC version 6.0 SP3 on my laptop, using WinCC version 6.2. The edit works ok and I can simulate without any issues. However, on transferring the project back to the original HMI (running WinCC v6.0 SP3) I get a "HResult 0x8004610a : (null)" error when I try to open the project. Using Project Migrator on the HMI does not seem to help either. Please help, as I'm at my wits end! I should state that I do not have WinCC v6.2 to install on the HMI. I actually get the "Server not available" notification and when I click on "Start server locally" I get the error.

To sum up: Project duplicator used to convert and save = CHECK Security mode of the SQL server = CHECK Computer name = CHECK (not changed) Project directory names = CHECK Current user authorisation = CHECK IP address change = CHECK (i.e. not changed) Any other suggestions would be most welcome. In the meantime, I'm going for the (painful) option of editing everything on a Virtual machine running the same version of WinCC as that on the target HMI.

April Posts: 1776 Rating: (95)	Hi, you can not use a WinCC project edited with WinCC V6.2 with WinCC V6.0. WinCC is not downwards compatibel see FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927773 WinCC generally upwards compatible. This means that if, for example, you have upgrades WinCC V6.0 to WinCC V6.0 SP4, you can also operate your WinCC V6.0 project with WinCC version V6.0 SP4. You can find notes on this in the "Migration" chapter in the WinCC Online Help.
