Dear Muneeb, a) did you already check, whether your *.mcp is write-protected???? b) which user-rights do you have on the client and server (admin? power user??) c) Is this user known at your server as well?? d) can you open your project on your server without any problems? nemo |

dear nemo 1.yes the user is local on client PC and is an administrator. 2. project is being opened on server itself without any error. Now i am making client in other way, in which i am creating a SERVER DATA on server (*.Package file). then i am adding one client PC in my Server WINCC project. then i am defining a startup screen on client PC. On Client side PC i am defining a startup screen of server, everything is running fine. Now my problem in this client is the OS-Project buttons on server side(like arrow button, Key button(to logon and logoff), Alarm control window, these are showing deactive on client Pc. what could be the reason? |

Hi Muneeb, did you proceed acc. to this FAQ when you tried to open your project from the client (first part of your forum-thread)?? http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22593197 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/15121778 When you started with Client/Server did you proceed as mentioned in "WinCC online help > Configuation> Client /Server"? Did you create WinCC-users with the corresponding rights on your WinCC-Client?? nemo |

Dear Nemo The problem is still there. the Faqs which you reffered to are reflecting to what i am trying to do, but the problem is i am when i am trying to open a server project on CLient WINCC, i am not prompted for SYStem LOGIN ID and PASSWORD. Infact i am given a message as i told you earlier "Access to the project denied". i want to know why this message is appearing all the time. i tried every thing with my project. anyways if you can help me, i will be thankful to you. muneeb |

Hi Muneeb, as mentioned before I think, that your network-configuration on the windows part is not yet sufficient, e.g. missing user rights for access..... nemo |
