I have followed the Siemens manuals to the letter, searched through forum posts and websites but have yet to find a clear explanation of how to solve this problem. Pleae do not post links to manuals as I have read through them already (they all assume that you already know how to set up a HSC).

Do you get errors, or is your programm just not working as you expect? So, which problem do you want us to help you solve?

Hello silvio_dante, As there are many possibilities of using the HSC in S7-1200, may I know which one you are trying to do? Counting or Frequency Measurement (again for both Single phase or Two phase or AB Quadrature)

Ok, first of all there is no need for a cyclic interrupt! You set up HSC_1 as shown in the first picture. The input for HSC_1 is I0.0 and the default (frequency)value is ID1000. For frequenty measurement there is no need to use any instruction in your PLC program. Tomonitor the frequency in the PLC you can write a simplenetwork like in the second picture. If this is working you set up an I/O field on your screen as shown in the third picture. I hope this helps youfurther. Attachment HSC.zip (1062 Downloads)

Gorp Posts: 89 Rating: (16)	As wrote before, there is no need to to put any HSC instruction in yourthe program for frequency measurement! I have attached a picture of theWHOLE plc program. There is only OB1 with only two networks to show the frequency measurement working. I have ithere on my desk including the KTP600 display and is working like a charme. In device configuration I have setup the clock memory byte to MB0. This gives a 10Hz puls on M0.0 and a 5 Hz puls on M0.1. I0.1 selects either the 10 or the 5Hz puls and outputs this to Q0.0. I have wired Q0.0 to I0.0 which is the count input for HSC1 The frequency of 5 or 10Hz shows up when I go online in OB1 and the frequency also displays on my KTP600. Good luck.
