Hi! We are facing the problem (showing errors as enclosed) to insert Y-link /Profibus-DP/PA coupler during the Hardware configuration in PCS7 V8.0+Updates1.Can anybody guide us?

Hi, how did you create your HW config? I tried it quickly, used the wizard and insertign the same IM is working fine for me. |

Now, I feel that this may be the license issue (PDM 8.0).Can you please guide us about the actual licenses to be required for these DP/PA configurations.

Hello Desh there is THISGerman entry available which may be applicable in your case and below is the English translation it: Question: Why is it no longer possible as of PCS7 V8 to configure a Y-Link (IM153-2) in Step7 HWconfig for a H-System? Answer: As of version 8 of PCS7, a check is made for a PDM installation as well as the availability of the EDD (Electronic Device Description) file for the DP/PA Link. The PCS7 V8 installation does however only install PDM but not the EDD file for the DP/PA link which also leads to the unavailability of the Y-link. The remedy is to download the Device Library 1#2012 from entry ID 61599132 and install it after the PDM installation. I hope this helps |

Hi, you need to import the device description from inside PDM. Check out the PDM manual in chapter 4.4.1 just using the File you downloaded as path. How to import the devices is also described in the readmy file of PDM wich can be found on the DVD and somewhere in the installation path. |
